As of today, Dr. Jochen Wiechen is retired. After 8 years on the Board of Intershop, he is looking forward to two things: sports and music. Cycling along the river Saale with a saxophone on his ears - he rediscovered his love of music in Jena, and with a ska band, Skatacombo, and the free orchestra, there were plenty of opportunities to nurture this counterbalance to the daily work routine.
"The fact that we can successfully complete Intershop's cloud transformation in a joint effort makes me look forward to retirement with great contentment. The road has been bumpy, yes, but the teamwork and great trust have paid off. That is the Intershop spirit that will most likely continue forever and, above all, help to continue this success story."
Jochen would like to address customers and partners personally in this video message:
"This success was made possible to a large extent by your input and contributions. The right idea, the right word in the right place were sometimes magic to significantly advance and realize our projects.
I would like to thank you all very much for the wonderful cooperation, for your trust and your commitment. It enabled us to build systems and processes of extraordinary scalability - which occasionally even set standards."
Jochen Wiechen is convinced that Markus Klahn as the new CEO, together with the strong management team at his back, will continue to build on the success. He is and will remain an Intershop shareholder and has his sights firmly set on the company's development.
All of Intershop wishes you, dear Jochen, a happy retirement.
All the best.
